So on my quest to support the minnows a little bit more, I decided to visit the new posts feed which is something I haven't done in a long time.
I was surprised to see how many posts were created by minnows, I would say that a rather large 60 - 70 % were minnows.
I have a rather generous delegation of 500 SP from both and
so thought I would put some of that power to use in the name of building the community.
Every time I saw a post from someone who was new with a reputation of 25 - 30 I skimmed through their content and gave an up vote if it was at least half decent.
I think it's important to remember the little people.
As the platform grows the little people will also have grown into fish, dolphins and whales and may very well be following and up voting you.
So I think we should encourage the little people, more so than trying to be the first up voter on a whales post just so you can get a curation reward that's a little bigger.
If people get driven away because they don't feel rewarded, then really everyone loses out in the long run as the platform will only grow so much.
I remember what it was like starting out, it can really get you down when you write a good posts and get no up votes.
On top of that I found it very rewarding to go and up vote a bunch of new people, and by the time I was done I felt like I had really made a bit of difference for our great Steemit community.
So this is going to become a regular thing for me on top of my adopt a minnow project.
