Howzit going steemit peeps, I found this awesome apple crumble recipe and this my attempt at making a sugar free, glueten free, cruelty free, apple crumble, I got this recipe from Dre Greger's book how not to die, I was quite impressed with the taste, it may look a bit burnt on top but it's the natural caramel. It doesn't cost that much so cheap it is and best of all it is healthy, so cheerful it is too. I basically take the core out of the apple and stuff it with a crumble mixture and top it with a date caramel sause.
Ingredients
6 apples
350g dates
1 teaspoon lemon
500ml boiling water
60g walnut
55g gluten free rolled oats
2 tablespoons raisins
2 tablespoons almond butter
2 teaspoons cinnamon
First thing is preparing the caramel sauce, you need to soak pitted dates in boiling water a few hours before, 350g dates
1 teaspoon blended lemon, so I keep lemon it the deep freeze in trays, I peel the lemon and blend it. It stays in the freezer until I need it
500ml boiling water
While the dates are chilling out it is time to make the crumble, 60g walnut
55g gluten free rolled oats
2 tablespoons raisins
2 tablespoons almond butter
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Blend it up
De-core the apples and peel off the skin a quarter way down, and place them in a baking tray
Then stuff them with the crumble
Then to blend up the dates
Pour some date sause on top of the apples
Then bake them for an hour at a medium heat
And there you have it, healthy apple crumble
Thanks for checking it out, and give it a go, they taste awesome
