Time sure does fly when having fun. It seems like just yesterday the first Steemonsters (Splinterlands) Kickstarter was underway with its Alpha edition and here we are today (11/05/2019) nearing the end of the second Kickstarter.
Both Kickstarters have been a massive success with the first one bringing in over $88,000 USD and the current (Second) one showing a current tally of over $175,000 USD.
What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter exists to help bring creative projects to life. A home for film, music, art, theater, games, comics, design, photography and more. Interested parties invest or donate money to help a project succeed via the website. Sometimes said investors get perks for doing so.
If you haven't participated yet but are planning too, time is running out as the Splinterlands kickstarter ends on November 7 2019 10:11 PM AST and is the only chance you have at participating in all 14 future airdrops.
In order to participate in all 14 airdrops you need to be an early purchaser of packs. This means if you decide to purchase packs from the official Splinterlands webpage after 100,000 have sold (Hint: we are well past that mark) you won't be eligible for the first airdrop.
The exception to this rule is participating in the Kickstarter/Fundition campaigns. Doing so will guarantee you access to all Airdrops regardless of how many pre-paid boosters sell.
The Kickstarter has many goodies in it that include but are not limited to Splinterland Stickers, A Book and a physical deck of Splinterland Cards.
There's also a digital only package for those who aren't interested in physical goods. If using Fiat for purchases isn't your thing the founders have also set up a Fundition.
What is Fundition?
Fundition is similar to Kickstarter and is used as a place to seek funding for various projects. None of that useless fiat is needed here as you pay with your cryptocurrency.
Other than the physical goods this Kickstarter is also introducing a whole new digital deck to the game called UNTAMED. There's four ways to get your hands on some UNTAMED Boosters. (1) You can participate in the Kickstarter, (2) You can Participate in Fundition, (3) You can pre-order them on the official Splinterland/Steemmonsters webpage, (4) You can purchase them on the Steem-Engine exchange.
Although buying directly from the official Splinterlands site or Steem-Engine will give you an UNTAMED Booster its important to note that packs aren't able to be opened at this time. Those who participate in the Kickstarter or Fundition will not get their boosters and other goodies right away. It takes time for the kickstarter to close and donations/pledges to change hands.
