Good day my Steemian Friends!
We are enjoying our visit with our daughter and her family. Hard to believe it has been almost 2 weeks! Time really flies. They’re doing so well, the little guy is so peaceful, rarely cries and he sleeps!
I have to hand it to them, they are pretty calm for 1st time parents. (I don’t think I was this calm!) As a result you see it in the baby. As they say, he’s pretty chill! Lol
This morning I realized I really needed to have my morning juice!
(Yes, I brought my juicer with me!)
Many of you know I am a huge morning juice and smoothie advocate. I started seriously working on improving my eating and workout habits in January and have definitely seen great results. I feel better and have a great deal of energy (which I certainly need right now!)
Fresh fruits and vegetables are the key!
Juicing has been perfect for me as I don’t need the amount of fiber you receive if you pack all of the fruits and vegetables I eat in a juice into a smoothie. I use the fruit and vegetable pulp which is left over in many other recipes, so nothing is wasted! You can check out some of my earlier posts for recipes.
Today we will be including Red Beets into our juice!
Beets are so nutritious! They contain high amounts of potassium, beta carotene, and they enhance stamina and endurance! (Yes!). They also produce Nitric oxide when consumed. This promotes better blood flow throughout the body. Some studies have shown this improved blood flow can be helpful in fighting dementia with older people. Wow
Sounds like a good reason to enjoy beets this morning! I think you’ll like it!
