Hello Steemian how was your Boxing day? I spent most of mine working which I was not happy about while many of my friends had it off I noticed this year many more were indeed working it.

While I was watching TV during Christmas I couldn't believe how cheerful and happy all these businesses were about who was going to be open the earliest on Boxing day.
How can anybody enjoy Christmas with their family when they have to keeping themselves in check for an early morning cold start to work the following day.
Oh yes we did as I remember my old boss giving us all a warning... well to those who were in boxing day to be responsible during Christmas because he would be pissed if anybody isn't well enough or has an excuse to not be in early morning sharp for their shift.

But the big thing this year is apparently the (walk) apparently everybody as to do the (walk) now, at first I was puzzled by what on earth is this (walk) that we all have to do on Boxing day.

For those who dont know what this (walk) is apparently its for all those who ate too much at Christmas to force themselves out of the house on Boxing day and have a walk with the family.
What I found interesting about this (walk) is many are recommending that during this walk everybody should go into their nearest shopping centre to get a coffee.....
Wow..Really...
Now if you haven't caught on yet this seems to be like a clear marketing attempt to get people out of their homes and into shops to go and spend even more money.
While watching the news during break many businesses are claiming that this Boxing day as been a huge success but when I finished work and checked some of the social media news headlines apparently many shoppers have apparently said to screw Boxing day sales and instead spend time at home with their families.
Which is it I wonder?

Hats off to those who didn't spend any extra money today and spent another quality day with their loved ones, as for those who went out on your (walk) I have nothing against staying fit and burning off some calories after the big day, its a good idea... but is a shopping mall really the best place....?
I think not I say get your dog and take him out for a walk with the whole family to the park, or just walk around a few blocks with the family you can still get your exercise without visiting the mall and buying the temping not so healthy food there.

Anyway so today at work soon as I got in and still taking my coat off my boss already started barking orders at me when I was telling a colleague who asked about my Christmas day, he rudely cut us off and started going on about the (plan) for the day which was the same thing we do everyday... he didn't even ask us how was our Christmas day, work work at that place, and that was pretty much the attitude of the management there for the rest of the day.
So for those who got to spent time with their families I hope you had a great day, for those still working I hope you get out early enough to spend some more good moments with your family.
