After 4 trips of no success, Me and my dad tried again, and the bite was just crazy. There was a giant school of pacific bonita biting. Although, I didn't get to catch one, it still was a fun time. Funny, I used a sabiki line and caught 6 fish all at once, and my line was 10 lb test and when I got all of the fish up, my line snapped! I could have caught 6 of these fish, but I didn't have good enough line. Too bad. But, my dad was using spoons and managed to land a few. He broke his personal best for a bonito!
People on the pier were pulling in these bonita like crazy! It bite was on fire. These fish fight super hard and are like tunas. They taste like a tender version of tuna, and aren't very fishy. These are an excellent table fair, and I filleted these two fish for dinner.

The best way to cook these is to not fry it...Frying it takes away flavor. The best way is to cook in a hot pan with butter, lime, salt, pepper, and old bay seasoning. A very simple recipe, but works great. And try not to over cook it. A lot of times, fish is done before you think it is and a lot of times you over cook it. You can cook the fish for the most part, then turn off the stove and let the remaining heat on the pan cook it the rest of the way.
Today, Me and my dad caught dinner at the local pier.
