Today's top of the morning tarot picks are from my Druid Animal Oracle Deck written by Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm, Illustrations by Bill Worthington.
Pick 1 card or both, These picks are for energies for the week of Jan. 14th-21st.
Here's a silly photo to break up seeing the first card...
(source? Someone sent to me)
Card 1: Blackbird * Druid Dhubh*
Enchantment / The Gateway / The Inner Call
In this picture the sweet blackbird is stooping on a Rowan tree, you see a moss covered cave in the background and the stars are just starting to appear at twilight. The Rowan tree carries a miniature pentagram in it's design and known as a very magical and sacred tree among the Druids. symbolizing protection and power, good health and all the elemental world.
I took long time ago and randomly made it black and white, I just noticed 2 spheres in the lower right side, they look like faerie orbs? Can you see the little pentagrams on the berries?
The word Druid Dhubh is a Gaelic word that means Black Druid. It symbolizes the transition of day into night and those forms of change in our consciousness from inner and outer states of being. The Black bird symbolizes the gateway between these changes that occur daily. When twilight appears and the first stars shine, is when the blackbird loves to sing and warn the outer world it's time to explore within and do the spiritual work needed to balance these changes. Possibly you've been doing a lot of help in your outer world or physical activity by day and night this card suggest to go inward and do the spiritual or inner meditation work or perhaps something creative and opposite than your normal routine. At twilight is a good time to enter your cave and explore other realms of your being.
Card 2: Otter Dobhran
Joy / Play / Helpfulness
The Otter is waiting on the river bank looking for Salmon, as one jumps behind. The Otter is agile on both land and water, is a member of the weasel family and a close relative to Beaver. It can stay under water for at least 4 minutes, it has webbed feet which makes for a super agile swimming. It's tail is used as a rudder and when they sleep they will hold hands, and float on their backs as not to float away from each other.

When I think of Otter's I think of fun and playfulness. I've spotted them in rivers toward the coast and they are incredibly fast and slinky.
If you choose this card today, time to go with the flow and have some fun already. Look to childish activities, better yet go play with some kids! Your practical self is saying, nice try, I don't have the time. Open up to the possibility of doing something off the wall fun that you would never think of doing. Perhaps a friend will come into your life this week that triggers some fun activity. I say, go for it. Stepping out of the mundane daily habits can be a refresher and a re-set in your energy field. " All work and no play makes Jack a dull Boy" (anyone name that movie, any old farts out there?)
Otter also symbolizes the sense for loyalty and family connections. The cubs stay with their parents for a really long time, and they are known to be very heart broken if a loved family member or friend passes. Cherish the time you have with friends and family, honor those connections and perhaps plan for some sort of family get away fun activity.
Today's picks are telling us this week shall be full of wonderful twilight skies, seek a balance of your inner and outer states of being, and best yet to go forth and get your fun on!
Blessings
