Another restaurant from the recent Easter season of travelling around Netherlands! This time in a small town near Eindhoven... where I really did not expect anything of too much quality and yet I was incredibly pleasantly surprised!

However, the South of Netherlands is much closer to Belgium... and so the quality of food and dining is also much better than the establishments that are further to the North or the East of the country.

So, here is my review of "We Know Burgers", a restaurant in Veldhoven which I visited in between rehearsal sessions in the church nearby.

The Space

The interior of the restaurant is quite well presented and seemingly newly renovated. There is a well stocked bar... and amply spacing and decent (but not too bright) lighting for the table seating. There is a range of seating types, from the high bar stools at the bar to the more comfortable chairs and couches along the side of the walls.

The spacing of the tables is great.. not too close! In addition, there is a second room that can be opened up when there is more dining traffic. The sound ambience is perfect, even in a more busy time... it wasn't too noisy at all.

The Menu

Burgers... what did you expect! However, there is a wide range of burger types... from the more traditional style through to some very interesting chicken and vegetarian options. All of which were served with either chips or salad... I wish that you didn't have to choose, and it wouldn't be that much difference for the restaurant to serve up both!

Oddly enough... during the lunch time, there is a wide selection of sandwiches! How unexpected!

The Food

Wow.... like I said in the introduction... I was NOT expecting anything of any worth here! So, I was incredibly surprised when the burger was amazingly good! I had taken the Classic Burger (with Chips... not salad), and the meat was just superb and well cooked... juicy but not dripping... also the tomato sauce (it seems weird to mention this...) was really a stand out, I'm not sure why... perhaps it was a home made one?

The chips were perfect as well.. as per usual, I can't stand soggy chips... and so the idea of serving them in a container like this is the right one, with the chips being allowed to breath, rather than just getting moist.

The Experience

Well... the likelihood of being in this town again is pretty small... which is a pity, because the food here was top notch!

The staff were friendly, but not overbearing... I hate it when they don't leave you alone.... and the preparation time was very quick. Very little wait time at all!

I would definitely visit this burger joint again in a flash if I was playing in this town... however, it is a bit too far to make a special trip for the burgers... seeing as there is a special burger place in my home town that I'm planning to visit next week!
