Last week I had the chance to visit Szent Kristof (Saint Christopher) restaurant in Kapuvar. The restaurant belongs to the pension with the same name, and it is located less than an hour from the Austrian border.
This is a very traditional restaurant with all sorts of Hungarian courses. And to be honest, it is way better than most similar restaurants. They make really delicious Wiener Schnitzel's, and they are all prepared 100% fresh on the spot, making them crispy, and fantastic to eat.
Since we visited the restaurant several times, I got the chance to taste at least 10 different courses at the restaurant. They were all great, and it should also be mentioned that they have daily menus costing only 3,5 Euro, and you will then get a giant portion of soup, and a big portion of the daily main crouse.
In the restaurant hey also have big plates on which you can taste all sorts of meats. At the picture above you can see an example of such a plate.
All in all, this is a fantastic place to stop for a big, but cheap, lunch on a travel day near the Austrian border. It is an ideal place to stop while traveling from Budapest to Sopron, or maybe on your trip from Sopron to Budapest!
