The most iconic thing people picture about Turkish food is the vertical rotisserie. Whether it's from chicken, sheep or beef, when you pass one you'll always stare at the wonderful roast spinning away.
Welcome to Uğrak Ciğer & Kebap
Menu but no price
We have to be careful as a tourist because when no price is displayed, you have to ask so there's no surprise bill. Our chosen meal was Adana Kebab.
Choose your meat
In front of the restaurant they have a cabinet displaying kebabs of different meat.
Cool window display so you can watch your meal getting cooked
Food is Ready
Our table was set up with salads and pickled chilli
For drinks we had something new: beetroot juice
Adana Kebab is a famous dish here in Turkey, and although we aren't in Adana city yet, this meal was very delicious. The bread was soft and cut up into small manageable pieces. The meat was well seasoned and I can't get enough of barbeque kebab.
Something New
The beetroot was sour and salty, even a bit fizzy. I think it was brewed so it had a vinegary tang to it. Perhaps I can get used to it like with the yoghurty Ayran drink.
