Telaga Air is a place by the sea in Sarawak Malaysia that has extremely beautiful landscape and most of all amazing and fresh seafood.
Recently the "shellout" concept of cooking and eating seafood has become very popular here in Malaysia and this place is riding the wave too.
It's basically like a seafood gumbo stew-like dish that's then served on a canvas family-style on the table where everyone can just pick their favorite piece and dig in.
Here's our meal on in one "plate". We had crabs, squids, prawns and some corn and onions all stewed and cooked in a spicy tomato sauce.
The best thing about eating seaside is that the food on the table was caught earlier in the day itself.
Sadly though all the bigger crabs and fishes were already sold out by the time we ordered our food. I guess people are eating seafood for breakfast nowadays too cause we were there noon time.
Here are some pics of the surrounding that I manage to catch.
A large part of the area is still under major development to attract more tourist so if you ever go to this place after the time of this post, it probably would be even better looking with it's modern facilities and restaurants.
