Hi Tasteem lovers!
Today I would like to share my unplanned Supper during my Bangkok visit a couple of weeks ago!
Since my family and I were staying at Makkasan (downtown Bangkok), we decided to take a late night walk around the area. There were many hawker stalls selling all kind of foods, fruits and souvenirs.
While walking at the street named Soi Ratchaprarop 8, we saw this restaurant and what caught our attention is the name of the restaurant which is nothing related with foods but there are so many locals takeaway their foods especially the BBQ fish in front of the restaurant.

The Outlook
From the outlook of this restaurant nothing is fancy!
The restaurant is located at the corner shop lot. Walking from the main road, Ratchaprarop Road to the restaurant just take 5 mins or less.
What are the attractions?
Getting close to the shop noticing there are many local waiting for their cook and when getting closer and closer, I noticed there are many locals ordered their BBQ fish which is looking good.
BBQing the fish just from the outside
Besides fish, they also serve other cooked food such as deep friend chicken and wings which is displaying in front of the restaurant.
Where and what is the menu?
The menu is simple and straightforward.
food menus are displayed at the wall with pictures
What to eat?
Since we all don't have any idea what to order and luckily the worker there is well English spoken. He is actually do everything! Means he serves, cook chef, and bill checkout.
After Ordered
I was surprised that they cook at the inside restaurant and I approached him and ask if they don't have kitchen? The answer is there's no kitchen in this restaurant and everything is cook here right in front of customer. At the back is just a storage area. Something new to me, which is a restaurant without kitchen!

Eat Like Local
We wanted to eat something light for supper, and he introduced us what most local order. Here it goes....
Our 1st Dish
Thai Salt Grilled Fish
The whole fish is covered with a thick layer of salt crust and all-purpose flour and the best part is they stuffed with lemongrass stalks and kaffir lime leaves.
the salt has to be removed before served but certain part of skin will still retain a little of salt, but the best part it helps to flavor the fish meat.
The stuffed with lemongrass stalks and kaffir lime leaves from the stomach (can't be eaten) and the dipping sauce is perfect for this dish (not too spicy).
This is a very appetizing dish which You can taste the flavor with the contrast of salty and sweet.
2nd Dish
Stir Fried Shrimp with Curry
This spicy shrimp is really creamy and fresh. Besides that, the volume of coconut milk is just perfect. Not too much! This is a heavenly dish if you can handle the hot and spicy
3rd Dish
Deep Fried Chicken Wings
This is a common dish but the dipping spicy sauce is absolutely perfect. Dip the wings to the sauce is a must!
My Drinks
“LEO” Lager Beer
Been trying Singha & Chang Beer much and is time to try this LEO BEER and unexpectedly is smooth!
Bill Out
As mentioned before, this restaurant is meant for locals. They don’t have proper bill nor proper price stated in the menu but the price is really cheap!*
Total price is 460Thai Baht which is estimated 14USD
Business Operating Hours
6:00 pm - 4:00 am (daily)
This is a real hidden gem located in a small alley. I recommend this restaurant if anyone staying nearby especially the bbq fish!
