We spent two nights on the island of Batam in Indonesia and of course shortly after our hotel check-in we went looking for a local restaurant. It was our first visit to this island and therefore everything was new for us. One of the reasons to travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries.
Batam is a good example. In the 'smart' internet the reports about Batam are mostly negative. I deliberately decided against the city and chose a nice hotel away from the hustle and bustle. Basically I wanted to live as close as possible to the restaurant "Reizaki" and "Amazon Restaurant". .
