Sorry I don't read Chinese so I don't know what to call this restaurant-by-the-jetty but it will always be known as the Big-Ass Mantis Prawns Restaurant in Sekinchan. First it's entrance is not even a conventional restaurant entrance in fact if you did not know, you will drive right past it!
I did say the mantis prawns were the size of a man's arm (oklah, maybe not the whole arm but big enough right?)
Then we are taught how to shell them to eat them too. Just use scissors.
Here's the fresh-from-the-sea steam crab. We chose them when the fishing boat dropped them off on the water side of the restaurant. Believe me, it was definitely as good as it looks.
Fancy some fresh prawn sashimi-style? Deveined and deshelled, just makan with chilli sauce.
Grilled sotong, again no seasoning required.
Home made fish balls just done perfectly.
Cooked prawns also just as good.
The restaurant side where the fishermen's boats come to dock and drop off the fresh seafood, newly caught and straight into the frying pan. We were happy as you can tell.
Forgot to take a picture of their inconspicuous entrance for you guys. Definitely worth the drive to somewhere in Sekinchan for this. I hope the link below to the restaurant's FB page works. Good food trails are meant to be shared so enjoy and thank me later. Hope you don't get lost finding them too. Enjoy!
