I've prepared edible rose and mixed oil macerate, which I've mentioned in the last Mixed Herbs and Rose Oil Macerate post.
This time I made oils that I will use as massage oils, because of their medical properties that are good for the skin and relaxing the muscles. Also not all the extracts are safe for internal use, like for example Saint John's wort extract is only safe in very low doses and mostly wouldn't be used internally when extracted.
Also, some of the extracts taste very strong, lavender is one of those and I don't really get a wish to add it in my food.
Both Saint John's wort and lavender massage oils should not be used before getting exposed to the sun, as it can hurt our skin. Because of that we only use these oils in the evening, when we'll be sure we won't get exposed to the sun for a few hours.
Before first time use, make a test of the oil extract on a small area of your skin to see if getting any kind of negative reaction on the skin.

I've made oils with the addition of alcohol this time, for better extraction. I didn't use alcohol in the edible oils, because I wouldn't like alcohol in my food.
I've added 1 tablespoon of 40% vodka to the dried herbs and let it infuse for 12 hours. After that I've mixed it with oil and placed it in a warm and sunny spot. The oils should infuse for 40-45 days. After that I will filter it with a cheesecloth and keep it in a cold dark place.
Make sure you keep the extracted oils away from your pets as they could eat it and it could be very harmful to them.
