The sun came out, I was hungry and so I went out and documented my day in beautiful Notting Hill.
I visited Kitchen & Pantry, a corner café where I bought a mixed berry smoothie and resisted the urge to buy cakes and pastries. I ordered to take away and ended up walking around in the sun with my cold drink.
The colourful houses in this part of London seem to bring out a lot of joy in people. Everyone was taking pictures of them, enjoying food and drinks and having a great time with friends and family. It’s wonderful how in Notting Hill you find million pound homes across the street from council flats. Because of this you get a mix of interesting people from all backgrounds in one area.
The Portobello market is lively on sunny days like this. Food stands have long lines, the fresh fruit and vegetables from the stands shine, people shop for clothing, dogs get taken out for walks, life is great!
The smell of seafood drew me to a fish and chips stand where for 5 GBP I purchased a basic fish and chips portion which included salad, fried peppers and onions, fish and fries. It was delicious!
New stands, shops and restaurants are always being opened in Notting Hill and in the summer you get an international bunch of tourists flocking to try and see everything that the area has to offer. It’s never too full here and spending the whole day out in the neighbourhood can be done comfortably.
