We were taken by motorcoach to Nuremberg, Germany or Nurnberg as the locals refer to it, on day 4 of our river cruise adventure. Nuremberg is a bustling city along the Danube canal, a waterway created as a water conduit to the Danube River by the German Government, which makes for continuous water travel without the need of motorcoach to get to future stops. We were fortunate the canal waters were at an adequate level otherwise motorcoach transportation may have been necessary to continue our journey. Yellow canola fields were a topic of conversation as were the beautiful villages that dotted the landscape along the canal. Arriving at Nurnberg, we found it a shopper's delight, with high quality handmade items like leather goods, wooden pens, soaps and other fragrant toiletries, and fresh, locally grown produce in Nuremberg's central market. Here's some of what I saw and chose to photograph. Canola fields, early morning fog on the canal, churches, church doors, pen maker crafting his wooden pens, marketplace ornate statue, city rooftops, red leather bag, church interior and white asparagus are photographed. Enjoy the local flavor and start your mental travel trip planning to this wonderful region! 3 Multi-colored wood pens IMG_9528.jpg
