I found another spot to dash in for two or three days a week, which is Woohoo moment for me. Instead of fighting the traffic and chaos of Ithaca every single day, I will now have some more leisurely deliveries in the tiny city of Geneva :)
Located at the western end of Seneca Lake, it is home to Hobart William Smith College, and an up and coming tourist town.
Just a handful of years ago, Geneva was an absolute shitehole. Despite being right along the lake, the downtown was busted and the places next to the lake were just small little cutouts.
Not sure when the transformation was decided, but when the Welcome Center was built it seemed everyone else in the area upped their game.
And in a major way!
I used to feel sorry for the students. Such a prestigious college surrounded by shambling and seedy buildings, and one main, ugly commercial strip.
Now the area is fitting for the money I'm sure they spend to be here.
Just like in Ithaca, I take my long break between shifts, and now with some new sights to explore.
Mama loves Geneva, which is only about a twenty minute drive for her, so perfect for grabbing lunch and catching up.
We hung out in here while we waited for our food, then of course went out to sit by the lake and eat :)
Or try to eat....
The yellow jackets were ridiculous, apparently it's protein time for them!
So we decided to grab our plates and head down the sidewalk.
Thinking maybe a bench would do.
Definitely couldn't complain about the walk along Seneca..
Which is the same lake I grew up on, about fifteen miles east of here :)
We spied a gazebo as we went and decided that was the perfect spot
And it really was a gorgeous choice!
But the bees found us here as well, haha!
We got through it!
I can't wait to do some more exploring of this area with you on my breaks, in the meantime Make it a great weekend Hive Peeps!
