Hi Steemians,
Over the weekend we decided to visit the market town of Skipton for lunch and a wonder around the shops and market. The town is located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in North Yorkshire, England and naturally on the menu was the most obvious English of choices - fish and chips!
Skipton is a popular destination for tourists as it is a great place to use as a base to explore the Yorkshire Dales. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs through Skipton and you are able to hire narrow boats should you wish. We didn’t on this occasion as we were hungry and headed straight for the fish and chip fish and chip restaurant.

The great British cuisine choice of fish (cod) and chips and scampi and chips were promptly ordered along with the obligatory cup of tea as liquid refreshment.

After we had settled the bill there was time for a wander around the shops. As a historic town there are plenty of narrow streets with many independent retailers selling all manner of curios.
We didn’t venture up to the castle today (a day trip to do in the future) but had a wonderful day just ambling around.

Bye for now - and have fun! 😎
