Heiliggeist is an exquisitely unique restaurant in the charming town of Mainz, Germany.
It's name means "Holy Spirit", and it is in a centuries old building that was once a church and a hospital.
This is the lobby that leads to the restrooms, or toilets, as they are referred to in Europe.
While its architecture and history are intriguing, the most memorable part of the experience is the food.
My deliciously refreshing limeade.
Here is the highlight of the evening; Pumpkin Lasagna. It was an unforgettable combination of rich, creamy cheeses, layers of pumpkin, perfectly cooked pasta noodles, and Italian spices. It was one of the most incredible pasta dishes I've ever had.
I highly recommend this culinary experience that will fill your senses, and give you a taste of Germany's history and charm.
