Hello all,
This is a quick photo summary of my trips in the past three day.
The journey started on Wednesday morning. It was warm, the sun was shining, the sky was blue with not a single cloud on it and I was in a great mood, ready for the next travel adventure!
Just before 9 a.m. the cleaners came, so I took the last remaining things out of my apartment and gave it one last glance before leaving the place where I had lived for the past 2 years and 20 months:
I hopped in my friend’s car, dropped off the apartment key at the housing company, and off to Stockholm we drove! Mid-way there we made a stop in Uppsala and went into IKEA to enjoy a simple but tasty lunch:
We made another quick stop at the storage on the outskirts of Stockholm, where I keep my things when I’m in-between places (like my current situation), and left some stuff there. Then my friend gave me a lift to the closest metro station. It was nice to descend from the scorching hot (33˚C / 91.5˚F) sunlight into the chilly underground tunnels of the Stockholm metro system:
I left the heavy travel bag in a storage box in the Central Station and took a combination of metro, bus and local train to my friend’s place on the other side of Stockholm, by the Baltic Sea. We spent a few hours lying on sun-heated rocks, swimming in the sea (the water temperature was about 24˚C / 75˚F) and chatting about cryptocurrencies (of course! ;)). I didn’t have my smartphone with me (didn’t want it near the water), so unfortunately I got no pictures from that lovely relaxed afternoon by the sea.
I spent the night at my friend’s place and on Thursday morning I headed for the airport, stopping at the Central Station to pick up my travel bag.
My flight was delayed by half an hour and lasted over four hours. There wasn’t meal service onboard (don’t fly SAS in the economy class, people!), so I was famished, when we landed. I took an Uber to my AirBnB place – the same one where I stayed during the last year’s SteemFest2 in Lisbon – unpacked, took shower, and went in search of dinner. It was already 8 p.m. local time, but many restaurants were just opening and people were streaming into them for dinner. This is when everything is closing in Sweden. So strange, the cultural differences!
I was craving sushi and luckily there was a nice place close to where I am staying. All-you-can-eat for EUR €16.90 and the menu of things to choose from was huge! It was a perfect match for my empty stomach.
I slept like a baby, being so tired after the long travel. And now I’m wide awake, my stomach grumbling again, so I’m heading off to find breakfast and start exploring Lisbon on foot! I borrowed some ideas and inspiration from ’ posts about Lisbon from two months ago. Thank you, Martina!
