Really poorly written article in that the author tries to have her cake and eat it too.
Agreeing that a pointless 2 week voluntourism program is bullshit, then trying to dance around the situation attempting to justify it is lame.
Voluntourism isn't complicated
. In my opinion it's an easy moral and rational call to decide whether the program is justifiable and makes sense - or whether it's crap.
Much ado about nothing.
