INTRODUCTION

Hey everyone, this one will be less interesting, so I thought I'd just get it out of the way. Just shows the kind of hotel rooms you get on a business trip in Japan 🇯🇵. The rooms are better than a capsule, I imagine, but they do leave a lot to be desired for a westerner.

As Mark says, "Let's 👍 ... Get Into It!"

Room 1 = Alpha 1 brand, Formerly Koromo (primary location)

nnn - This was the first hotel room I stayed in, while in Japan. It left a lot to be desired. I begged for the travel agency to find me a different hotel, but for some reason, the town we were in was packed at this time, so I had to wait many weeks.

nnn - It had a restaurant 🍜 on the ground floor that you could smell through the whole building, until the smell of old man's socks ⛸ took over

About six weeks in to the trip, I was able to find a room at another hotel. That hotel will be featured in the 2007 version of this blog. Look for it!

Note: The pics above don't have a three-digit number because it was early in the trip and I hadn't developed the scheme yet. Thus, "nnn".

Room 2 = Tokyu(?) brand, Tokyo (weekend trip)

102 - The decor is fabulous, eh?

103 - Only room I can recall with a bifold door to the bathroom

104 - Hey, a flat screen TV 🖥. (Remember, this is 2005, they weren't so common then.) At least I could press my pants in the thing hanging on the wall (yeah, right).

107 - Ah, the view is worth the price

Room 3 = Unknown brand, Nagoya (weekend trip)

336 - A little bigger than Room 2

337 - That radio/light control was pretty standard in all the rooms

338 - The view was a little worse than Room 2 also

Room 4 = Sankyu(?) brand, Osaka (weekend trip)

435 - This felt palatial 🏟 compared to the previous rooms, if only for the emerald slippers

436 - Separate toilet room from the shower, with the standard bidet controls

437 - The separate shower room. No curtain because the whole room is a wet room

438 - I was afraid to sit in {honestly, even touch} that massaging chair

439 - This was living high, THREE chairs. Remember, it is 2005, so tube TVs were still cheaper than flat screens

440 - Even had a balcony to go out on and stare at the neighbors. Kind of like a cruise ship

Room X = Hilton brand, Nagoya (weekend trip with my brother)

590 - My brother came to visit and stayed at a hotel with a Ferrari parked outside. Our father paid for his trip, so he got better accommodations (note the car outside will be better displayed in the Cars section)

Room 5 = Unknown brand, Tokyo (weekend trip with my brother)

592 - Hey, a flat screen TV! And a tatami floor cover!

593 - Check out that throne and all the buttons

There were a few other rooms also. But they didn't look much different from the ones already shown, so I'll save the bandwidth for more interesting stuff.

CONCLUSION

Book your hotels early. Otherwise you get stuck in the types of rooms you've seen here. This was true every time I've been to Japan 🇯🇵, five times as of this writing (2023-Feb). You'll be able to see more hotel pictures soon, so keep looking for updates.
