I wasn't able to make this an entry for yesterday's #FruitsAndVeggiesMonday so for today I have it in #TreeTuesday
I thought bago leaves is derived from a vine plant all along but is from a tree. I was never bothered to ask until my mother told me a neighbor have it in their yard. The wild is its natural habitat. I haven't seen one in all my encounters in the wild so I check it out myself.
Young bago leaves are used as leaf vegetable in soup and stews, such as tinuwa or law-oy (utan bisaya). Some made it into salad. It tastes slightly bitter-sour that's why I don't really eat it. 😊 There are people who really love the taste though.
