Yesterday marked the 48th Annual Nova Scotia Marathon in Barrington Passage Nova Scotia. This takes place on the South West Shore of Nova Scotia. What I refer to as the end of the world. One of the nice things about going to Barrington for the Marathon is the chance to visit the many unspoiled beaches.
What started out as a bright sunny afternoon, very hot and humid, quickly turned into something dark and misty.
Quick...........lets get to the car.
So if you cant walk on the beach because the weather is bad, then you might as well eat. At the best Seafood Restaurant I have ever been to.
So that was one mighty fine meal.
The morning of the race seemed cool at first. A little misty and a light fog. It very quickly warmed up and before we knew it, it was stifling. It was 28 degress Celsius, but felt like 39 degress Celsius, because the humidity was a whopping 81%. This made for one very hot and hellish run. You could see the heat rising from the pavement. Thankfully each aid station was equipped with water, Gatorade and sponges. At times it even seemed hard to breathe. So it really became about finishing the race. So finish I did.
Thanks for coming along on one very hot humid run.
