To be able to give anything to anyone would surely make other people happy. You can touch their hearts and even change their lives. For some, whatever you will give may just be a little something. But for others, it could be their everything.
Hello dear friends in the #steemit world. Today is my 4th day with my campaign towards the improvement of my classroom. I am happy that at least there are some people who showed support in this #upfundme movement.
On May 28-June 2, 2018, Brigada Eskwela will be held in all schools all over the Philippines.
Brigada Eskwela is an annual campaign wherein all voluntary stakeholders jointly conduct minor repair and clean ups on their respective schools for at least two weeks before the start of the coming school year. It is a nationwide campaign for the voluntary convergence of resources, efforts of teachers, parents, students, community officials and non-government organizations. It is called “Brigada Eskwela,” which means “Bayanihan para sa Paaralan.”
As I have shown in my previous posts, my classroom badly needs repair. The ceiling, walls. floor and even chalkboards need to be improved.
The above pictures show how bad my classroom looks like. But it is just unfortunate because the school doesn't have the funds to make the necessary repair. Collecting money from parents as a contribution is prohibited in public schools. I also don't have money of my own for my classroom repair.
That is the reason why we, together with my school head and other stakeholders, are humbly knocking on your kind hearts to please help us make the necessary repair which should be done before classes start.
We can't do anything except to look for sponsors who will be kind and generous enough to help us raise funds for the improvement of my classroom. It doesn't even have lights, no electric fans so whenever there is rain, it is really dark inside and it is also very hot when it's a sunny day.
But eventhough the condition of my classroom is like this, I will still continue to teach. I still have that burning passion in shaping the hearts and minds of my pupils.
And I would be more than glad if more steemians will support this campaign. Learning for the kids will be better if their "second home" or their "home away from home" will be much more inproved.
We need more means. We need to find more ways. We need more sponsors.
I am doing this not for myself but mostly for my school kids. Having a much improved classroom would really be a big help for them.
