First up, most important thing! The VEGAN Bacon! Yum! This stuff is the best, I use it in and on everything.... Potato bakes, Carbonara, Burgers, Salads.
Use a butter knife (non seraded) to seperate the bacon slices. Cook on a Fry pan with some oil or in a sandwich press.
Just a square block of Hard tofu, pressed between 2 plates (put some paper towel in between too) and put something heavy on top, for 10 mins.
Cut very thin slices.
The slices need to be really thing like the white of an egg frying. You can cut the tofu into a round shape, to make it look more like a fried egg or to put on a muffin to make a Bacon and Egg Muffin.
Create holes for the Yolks. We used the mouth of a glass bottle.
To make the Yolk:
1/2 Tablespoon Tapioca Flour
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1/4-1/2 teaspoon Black Salt (available at Indian supermarkets or online)
Add 1 tablespoon of a plant based milk.... This is the BEST Milk EVER! So creamy and good in hot drinks!
Mix it all together....
Sprinkle some Black Salt on the Tofu Slices.
Fry the Tofu on one side first.
Flip the Tofu (Egg White) over and pour in the Yolk mixture.
The first one didn't overflow....
The second one overflowed... like an egg does!
Cook for a minute or so until "set"
Enjoy with Bacon and Baked Beans (Canned!) or as I usually do, have on a muffin (tip top from bread isle in supermarket) with bacon and a piece of vegan cheese! So DELICIOUS!!!!
