So what's the latest discovery?
It's been a rollercoaster thus far, trying to figure out what foods trigger my poor digestion.
First I thought it was gluten. That was actually correct, but not the only culprit.
Next I cut out alcohol. I felt better, obviously, but I was still getting sick.
So then I thought: why not try a vegan diet? As far as restriction goes, it's quite strict... and then I got sick yesterday.
I can't believe I'm still finding things to eliminate!
I love food, you guys. This hurts my soul.
Anyway, what I had eaten that got me sick was vegan gluten free banana pancakes. The ingredients are:
- banana
- baking powder
- flax egg (made from ground flax and water)
- vanilla extract
- coconut oil
- almond butter
- oatmeal
- gluten free all purpose flour
There is no mistaking it: something in this batter made me terribly sick. Personally, I think it was the almond butter. It's the most common allergen out of the list. What do you guys think? It's time for the 400 to chime in and share what they know! Thank you all so very much!
