This happened yesterday! Apparently if you blend your Vitamix on slow with a large portion for a long duration it has a chance of overheating! My first thought was that it was definitely broken and that the girlfriend would be disappointed, but after browsing online it is a common occurrence that can be solved by unplugging the Vitamix and letting it cool off for about 20 minutes. The Vitamix in theory will shut itself off before it burns out the motor.
After I fixed the problem the outcome was some delicious soup for me and my SO. Here is the basis of my Recipe which was gathered from multiple recipes found online.
I first chopped up 1 leek and 2 carrots with some garlic and onion and sweated the vegetables (cooking them on low) with some vegetable oil. I blended up 3 small potatoes after they were boiled and added a can of Coconut milk. I cooked a small batch of baby Portobello mushrooms and added a handful to the blender along with the leek and carrots. Blended for around 3 minutes on "high" and when it was finished the rest of the chopped mushrooms were added with various spices. The final outcome according to the lady needed some salt but nothing else ;)
I believe various recipes can be thought up from this basis for this soup and if you have any please let me know! More Recipes to follow! Thanks for reading!
