Hello Steemit Friends,
I do not have a lot of experience with Italian wines so I had no idea what to expect from Vecchia Modena – Cleto Chiarli E Figli. I could tell by the cork that it was some kind of sparkling wine. The description card said “Bright, light red color, an extraordinarily vibrant and neat taste with elegant aromas of raspberries and roses”. It sounded worth a try.
I was not disappointed. It had a really pretty light red color and the fragrance was mild fruit. The flavor was light and refreshing, not too bubbly and slightly tart. It reminded me of a cranberry spritzer. It tasted good by itself and also yummy with food. I checked out the company website - https://www.chiarli.it/showPage.php?template=cantine&id=3 and saw that the brand was Cleto Chiarli and the wine was made from 100% Lambrusco di Sorbara grapes.
I will admit that I had a problem opening the bottle. I had never seen the cork latched to the bottle in that manner. I tried a butter knife and couldn’t get enough leverage. Needle nose pliers turned out to be the answer. Do any of you have experience with this type of latching? If so, what is the trick?
This wine was really nice and I would feel very comfortable giving it as a house-warming gift. The price where I purchased it was $16.80 US. I will definitely buy this selection again.
