After watching the Gillette advertisement and reading many comments surrounding the debate of whether or not the advertisement is correct or not, I have been left wondering is it entirely up to men with they way they behave? We are conditioned, each and every one of us to behave in a way to please our teachers, parents, bosses, partners, friends and children. At work I have been put into my masculine in order to get things done. For many men, the reverse is true. Now we are presented with a situation where women are functioning outside of their natural state and the same with men. This can cause an imbalance in society and can also mean that we no longer know what it means to be a man or a woman.
Of course women are able to have careers and men be homemakers if that is their wish, it is not to say that makes them any less female or male. If you take the time to research masculine and feminine traits though, you will see what I mean.
I am of the opinion that a company such as Gillette should stick more to marketing their product than making a political statement, attacking a large portion of their clientelle.
***note, I am also a supporter of the lgbtqia community. Every person I believe is like a yin and yang. Each operating with masculine and feminine traits. Everyone has the right to choose which one they would prefer to operate out of predominately.
