RE: Organic Gardening isn't for Sissies, Part 3 (and final)
First thing that came to my mind was chicken tractor. And they'll get rid of the insects as a bonus!

RE: What Coffee Can Do For Your Garden
I’m not aware of any plants with an affinity for coffee grounds specifically. My goal is general health of the soil through increasing organic matter and promoting microbiological activity with available

RE: What Coffee Can Do For Your Garden
Yes. I put loose tea (black & herbal) directly on the beds. Bags go in the compost as it takes a little longer to break down.

RE: What Coffee Can Do For Your Garden
I love my garden, but the first cup's for me! ;-) I see the grounds as a byproduct of making my cup of coffee. My research and experience suggests they are better used directly on the garden than composted,

Thanks for the update! Always good to be aware when predators calling themselves “government” are plotting future attacks.

RE: Don’t Be a Sucker, Make Tomato Plant Clones!
I’m in Austin, so we deal with similar challenges in summer – very hot, intense direct sun and very dry. Shade cloth has been a lifesaver. It’s allowed for much less watering and less stress on the plants.

RE: Don’t Be a Sucker, Make Tomato Plant Clones!
We have 2 tomato seasons here - spring and late summer. I think having these ready to go will be much easier and faster than starting seeds for round 2 after early blight takes out the first crop. Plus,

RE: Why You Should Be Brewing Your Own Kombucha
I agree. I'm currently brewing in a 3 liter jar, but will be moving up to a 2 gallon in the next week. I also want to set some aside for a couple months to try for kombucha vinegar. Cheers!

RE: If you "support" government, you are a threat to humankind. Here's why.
There are those that respect other people's autonomy and there are those that do not. That latter I call criminals, regardless of costume or title.

Thank you. The trees grow pretty fast, so it won't be long coming. I think this technique will work for most fruit trees that aren't grafted to a different rootstock. I will certainly be trying it on any

I agree. The Mexican Mint put out some of the most beautiful coins. I have a couple Libertads - higher premium than other national mints, but a terrific looking bullion coin.

Yes, the above is temporary. I plan to get a full cover w/ 60% light transmission next spring and set it up. I like using cattle panels for the frame....easy up, easy down.

Yes, these are all photos I took of my raised bed garden. There's a cool, baby bok choy at the top, garden beds shaded w/ some spare row cover cloth in the middle and beets and kale at the bottom.
