Hello internet people, how are you? I hope very well, today I want to share with you our family experience in a restaurant that is in the northern part of my city, Valencia, in Venezuela, specifically on Bolivar Avenue, and is that yesterday I went with my family, that is, my parents and my sister, because we were curious to know if it was as good as everyone said. I must clarify that when my sister and I were little, my dad used to bring us to this place, at that time the restaurant was called “El Bosque” (The forest) I do not know if this is the same restaurant that they changed the name but the truth is that although the menu is very different from what I remember, the whole place brought me precious childhood memories.

The place is called “Pollo rico” because chicken is the star of the place, that is, it is the protagonist in most of the dishes on the menu, but in reality there are many options such as roasted chicken, baked chicken, pizzas, burgers, barbecues, even in December they served the typical Venezuelan Christmas dish consisting of hallacas, ham bread and salad. Another thing I liked is that the menu consists of several “combos” that is, they offer several products for a very affordable price, for example, the one we ordered was the combo number 18 which consists of several pieces of roast chicken, accompanied by a portion of fried yucca and another portion of fried arepitas (typical Venezuelan dish) as garnish, plus a salad and a liter soda, all this for only $ 22.

We really had a great time remembering old times, plus this outing to the restaurant also served as a celebration for my parents' wedding anniversary, actually their anniversary was on December 20, but they were so busy that they could not celebrate it.

The place was very nice, just as I remembered it when my dad used to bring us in the past, except that now they don't have self service on the salads. The taste of the roasted chicken was exquisite, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it, it was crispy on the outside, but the inside was juicy and tender but very well cooked, we also accompanied it with a garlic sauce that was delicious, the salad was very rich, cabbage was predominant and had a sweet touch.

The attention they gave us was first class, the waiter who served us was very very nice, so we wanted to give him a good tip but we had to do it behind the restaurant's back because according to what he explained to us, the restaurant's rules prevent waiters from getting tips directly from customers, and I believe him because I am a Chef and I know that there are many restaurants that have those rules. I think that if the customer is happy with the treatment he/she receives and wants to make a direct contribution to the waiter, he/she should be able to do it without any problem.

Honestly it was a very pleasant experience that I hope to repeat, I say this as a customer and as a chef myself, the food is delicious, from the moment you order your order does not take too long to arrive, the service is very good, the restaurant is clean, nice and has a very pleasant atmosphere, we all left there very happy.

¡Hola Hola gente de internet! ¿Cómo están? Espero que muy bien, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes nuestra experiencia familiar en un restaurante que está en la zona norte de mi ciudad, Valencia, en Venezuela, específicamente en la avenida Bolívar, y es que ayer fui con mi familia, es decir, mis padres y mi hermana, porque teníamos curiosidad de saber si era tan bueno como todos decían. Debo aclarar que cuando mi hermana y yo éramos pequeñas, mi papá solía traernos a este lugar, en esa época el restaurante se llamaba "El Bosque" no sé si este sea el mismo restaurante al que le cambiaron el nombre pero la verdad es que aunque el menú es muy diferente al que recuerdo, todo el lugar me trajo preciosos recuerdos de infancia.

El lugar se llama "Pollo rico" porque el pollo es la estrella del lugar, es decir, es el protagonista en la mayoría de los platos del menú, pero en realidad hay muchísimas opciones como Pollo rostizado, Pollo asado, pizzas, hamburguesas, barbacoas, incluso en diciembre sirvieron el típico plato navideño venezolano que consta de hallacas, pan de jamón y ensalada. Otra cosa que me gustó es que el menú consta de varios "combos" es decir, que te ofrecen varios productos por un precio bastante accesible, por ejemplo, el que nosotros pedimos fue el combo número 18 que consta de varias piezas de pollo rostizado, acompañado por una ración de yuca frita y otra ración de arepitas (plato tipico venezolano) fritas como guarnición, además de una ensalada y un refresco de un litro, todo esto pro tan solo 22 $

Realmente la pasamos muy bien recordando viejos tiempos, además esta salida al restaurante también sirvió como celebración por el aniversario de bodas de mis padres, en realidad su aniversario fue el 20 de diciembre, pero ellos estuvieron tan ocupados que no pudieron celebrarlo

El lugar estaba muy bonito, tal como lo recordaba cuando mi papá nos traía en el pasado, a excepción de que ahora no tienen el servicio de self service en las ensaladas. El sabor del pollo rostizado era exquisito, no tengo absolutamente nada malo que decir al respecto, estaba crocante por fuera, pero el interior estaba jugoso y tierno pero muy muy bien cocinado, además lo acompañamos con una salsa de ajo que estaba deliciosa, la ensalada era muy rica, predominaba la col o repollo y tenía un toque dulce

La atención que nos dieron fue de primer nivel, el mesero que nos atendió fue muy pero muy amable, así que quisimos darle una buena propina pero tuvimos que hacerlo a escondidas del restaurante porque según lo que él nos explicó, las reglas del restaurante impiden que los meseros obtengan propina directamente de los clientes, y le creo porque soy Chef y sé que hay muchos restaurantes que tienen esas reglas. Opino que si el cliente está feliz con el trato que recibe y desea hacer una contribución directa con el mesero debería poder hacerla sin problemas.

Honestamente fue una muy grata experiencia que espero que se repita, lo digo como cliente y como chef que soy, la comida es deliciosa, desde que haces la orden tu pedido no tarda demasiado tiempo en llegar, la tención es muy buena, el restaurante es limpio, bonito y tiene un ambiente muy agradable, todos nos fuimos muy contentos de allí.
