RE: Elderberry Magic: Summer love to cure the winter blues
I can't wait until we have enough elderberries to do this. They aren't something that grows naturally here but we have 5 plants growing, 2 are about 8 feet tall and fruiting now.

I'm also still around but haven't been active until recently. I struggle to find the time to keep up with all the different platforms.

RE: 4 week inspection of Top Bar Hive plus DIY sugar feeder
We thought abut using it, but probably not at this stage. Those frames are from a commercial beekeeper so I don't know the content/quality of what was used in the foundation, so for the small amount of

RE: First inspection of our top bar hive.
This link from South Australia Primary Industries mentions registering top bar/warre/flow hives so I thing you would be ok. In the past many people believed top bar style hives were illegal because the

RE: First inspection of our top bar hive.
As far as I understand the laws here in Australia, we can use any hive we like as long as the comb is removable for inspection. We also need to register our hives.

I'm in South East Qld, sort of around the Bundaberg area. I've been reading, listening to podcasts and absorbing whatever other information I can find for about 3 years now. I figured this year it was

RE: How Much Land You Need For A Homestead
You're right, it's hard to put a figure on how much land you need. Before we bought our place I wanted 40 acres at least, as that's what I thought we would need. We ended up buying 25 acres of not great

RE: Predator Frustration - Graphic Images.
Not sure if we are surrounded, we have gone a whole year with no real predator issues, so it's sort of blind sided us a bit. Predator proof pet enclosures just climbed a long way up the priority order.

It was pretty wet here for a while, not so much now, but we have been getting enough rain to keep the place green. Yes we are continuing with the sheep. We have re-collected ourselves and are moving forward.

RE: Australian Native Stingless Beekeeping - Part 3 - Splitting a boxed hive
I do mention it in the video, but they can bite like an ant and will attack sensitive areas like your eyelids, which is not much fun when trying to film a video.
