About some time ago when someone introduced and encouraged me to write here at steemit about anything under the sun that I think would trend. I was really into writing those days especially when it comes to my adventures, places I visited, and people I met along the way. And just like my previous blogs, this one is also about travelling.

Honestly, I love travelling (as if it's not obvious ha!). Whenever I am happy, I travel... and whenever I am sad, I travel. I travel to celebrate, I travel to forget; I travel for everything. I really still don't know why most people don't get me; I am not and anything near complicated, all I want is to travel... and live my life, with some ice cream, pizza, bottles of cold ones or just my favorite bottle of vino, and of course with my love. I'm kidding, but half meant... maybe they are really right, I'm quite complicated in an expensive way. I always want everything, everything that makes me feel better. And some things that makes me FAT!!! :-(

I'm now going beyond my topic on this blog, and probably you're already thinking, "Gaaahd, she's awful in writing, her blog's title is not even connected to what she's writing." But hey! Wait up there, everything else is connected.

So, last Summer 2017, I was still getting through a breakup and some self pity-ish feeling I had throughout the past relationship. A good friend of mine (Kuya Gio) from law school invited me to their resort (Kagedama Agri-Beach Resort) in Calaguas Island, Camarines Norte, Philippines. The Island is pretty famous for its crystal clear salt water and powdered white sand... so that made me really excited though a bit hesitant for some reasons. But just the way I am, when it comes to "travelling" I'm always on the go. In Filipino language, there's an idiomatic expression that goes like, "mas mabilis pa sa alas quatro" (quicker than four o'clock) and I still don't get it why it's four o'clock and not another hour in the clock, if someone knows... please do explain it in the comments below!

The trip to Calaguas was almost 7 hours from Legazpi City, Albay, Philippines... and 8 hours if you're from Manila travelling to Legazpi by plane. If you're into "short trip to save time" you can book a plane ticket to Naga City, Camarines Sur, travelling to Camarines Norte would only take you about 3 hours unlike if you will be coming from Legazpi which would take you about 5 hours on the road depending on the traffic. However, I am not sure about the air travel schedule in Naga, unlike Legazpi which has a daily trip from/to Manila and Cebu. After the land trip, travelling by boat (about 2 hours) is necessary to get to Calaguas Island. Don't worry, the trip won't be boring because you'll pass through some beautiful scenery (islets), and sometimes there's a bit of wave, so basically you'll enjoy the trip.

Now, this is me the moment I set foot on Calaguas Island. Happy and excited to dip into the crystal salt water and sit on those powdered white sand... or get drunk on it. Lol. All along the trip all I was thinking was "booze" like "more booze" that's what I expected.

It was around 4 o'clock in the afternoon when we arrived at the island and the trip was kinda long and tiring, so, I decided to change some clothes and sit on the powdered white sand, waited for the sun to set, enjoyed the sea breeze, and just savored the beautiful scenery.

The morning came, started the day by hiking into a hill to have a better view of the island, plus it's a very good cardio... and just like falling in love, it took my breath away.

Around lunch to afternoon that time, I was playing in the sand, climbing and swinging on the branches of the trees, and just enjoying the moment like a little kid.

Most of the time, I'm sitting or lying on a hammock and just reading. It's healthy that way, while I'm feeding my wanderlust I always make sure that I also feed my mind with some good thoughts and ideas.

During my third day in the island, we went island hopping using a small boat. It's way more fun that way...

I love the food in the island, well because it's all seafood and asdfghjkl shrimps, lobsters, crabs, and fresh big fish were the bomb! Wasn't able to take a photo of everything I ate there because I was always excited to indulge into it and enjoyed the company of the Buen Family.

On the fourth, I spent it walking and dipping into the beach... though I was already tan, like tanned!

Then fifth day came, and guess what I've been doing? Siesta!!! Plus, enjoying the beach... and still finding where the booze at! I'm staying on a big house in the island (Kagedama Agri-Beach Resort) because I was a VIP (hahahahaha thank you so much Kuya Gio and Buen Family), normally, the tourist here go camping so many are staying in camping tent or cottages provided by the resort.

Fortunately, I found the booze when the evening came. Camarines Norte's famous booze is Coconut Wine which is called "Lambanog" in Filipino language, I forgot what it's called by the locals of Calaguas. The booze tasted like a tequila and sometimes vodka, whatever it was... it was really delicious because it was my lucky night for I found the booze and watched a fire dance which really amazed me.

To summarize it all...

Calaguas Island was really great, whether you spend it with someone special (the place is quite romantic, especially with the sunset and starry sky at night) with friends, or even alone... the island is pure and peaceful. An island full of serenity and answers. I came here full of questions, doubts (mostly self doubts), heavy feelings, and broken heart, but thanks to its beauty and company I had, I came home healed and confident again.

I felt like myself again... and that's how travelling worked its magic on me.

After travelling thousands of miles,

different cities,

different places,

different people,

different experiences....

I feel like myself now. I solved some of my issues, lessen my self doubts and baggages, forgot and moved on from a very traumatic past, grew up, and just living life positively... always looking forward for better days, better tomorrows, and more places to explore!

Indeed, travelling is always the answer but never the question.
