"I'd like to propose a toast, to finally bid the city of angels goodbye," Andrew said from the back seat of the car. He went on to sing melodies with a slur in his voice, we all laughed as we acknowledged his drunkenness. We were halfway out of the city of Ally, where my boyfriend Jason, two of his friends Polar, Andrew, and I, took a little trip to dine with the angels of Ally as they called bitches from there. I looked out of the driver's seat, up in the sky and noticed its frown, and knew that we'd soon be accompanied by a storm. All the boys were drunk and so I had to handle the wheels. As if I was a psychic, it immediately began to pour. "Hey baby, can you get my phone from the side door?" I said to Jason as we traveled into the storm. "Dang, I don't have any service, it will soon be dark and we can't navigate this route without service" I mumbled with frustration all over my face as it became red. We both looked back at the guys, and they were both fast asleep. "Oh cowards," Jason said as he chuckled and snatched the bottle of champagne from Andrew's grab. We drove into a lonely road and soon the nights had fast approached, I launched my wiper as the downpour became stronger. As I looked down to put on my headlights, I froze for a minute as I noticed a persistent flash of red light. I turned my heading slowly with my mouth wide open to Jason, he stared back in curiosity for a while before he finally spoke. "What the matter Jane?" He asked, a sound could be heard in my neck region as I swallowed a huge spit, I turned to the flashes to be doubly sure and then back to Jason and asked "Baby, did you refill the tank?" He gasped in shock as he figured we were out of gas, "Whatever you do, don't release the accelera…" Jason's attempt to demand that I keep the car rolling got cut short as the engines immediately went off. "Fuck!" Jason screamed and the guys both snapped out of their car nap shouting "I'm up" in unison. "Jinx!" Jason and I echoed as if we weren't in the midst of a catastrophe. "What's the matter?" Polar asked. We both couldn't give an immediate response, Andrew was forced to ask the exact same question, and this time, Jason responded with "we're out of gas" as he looked out to view the road. "We have to spread out and look for help," Jason suggested. "In the middle of nowhere?" I asked as I countered his suggestion. "We need to stick together, it's too lonely out here. Good thing we have some coats in the car, everyone, grab one" I said and we all pulled out our coats and put them on."

"There, there's a route over there, it must lead somewhere," Jason said and pointed as he spotted an opening in the bushes. "I could have sworn that wasn't there a while ago" Andrew echoed. " Oh shush, what do you know, you're drunk," Polar said as we all chuckled and stepped out of the car. "I don't like this one bit" Andrew continued murmuring as he slows down his steps to become the last to go through the bushes. We brought out our phones and turned on our flashlights, an illuminating light flashed into our eyes for a swift second, "Ahhhh" we all screamed. "That was weird" I mumbled as it seemed our flashes refracted on a glass prism that caused an effect with much higher brightness. It happens that as we ignored the strange event and pushed forward through the bushes, we got to what seemed like a dead-end, there was a very thick iron wall. We all turned in an attempt to go back when Jason called our attention to what was on the wall. "There's writing on the wall," Jason said. I drew closer and wiped the dust off its rusty edges. "The church" I echoed the writings and not less than a thousand bats escaped the bushes as a loud groan was heard in its midsts. We screamed in fear only to watch the wall roll away. "There's a route" Polar said as his explorer tingles were awakening. He walked right past us before we could even get a chance to bail on the idea of going through the bushes. We had no choice but to go after him. We soon found ourselves in the field of the sanctuary, or was it a cemetery? It was difficult to tell as they were in the same place. Andrew shivered as he echoed "oh Lord''. I was officially creeped out. What was a church doing in a place like this? And who even buries people here? Questions and questions ran through my mind. As if we were being controlled by something, we still found ourselves pushing forward. Polar had already made his way into the church, we dashed forward as we began to feel the presence of dead bodies roaming. We reached the door and were about to enter when a vicious hawk flew out of the window and into the dark skies. Jason peed in his pants while his butt let the gas rip. I was so nervous that I couldn't make a joke out of it. Andrew was about to laugh when the doors of the church went open. Andrew's face of laughter immediately turned into a cry of misery as we saw Polar's head in a tray at the doorstep, with a paper glued to it that reads "Here's a treat dear visitors" We screamed and attempted to run off but a strong wind occupied the fields and sent us flying into the church, the doors closed shut and we all knew within us that we've reached the end of our lives.

As if we planned it, we all had our eyes shut as we feared the worst was in front of us. We weren't exactly wrong, it was hell when we summoned the courage to see what we were in for. A feminine beast was seated at a far distance, a large bird figure above her throne. It was so scary that it could send fear down any human's spine. There were no benches but many skeletons occupied the room. I gripped Jason by the hand and whispered that I saw a gravestone with Polar's name appear in the fields before the doors shut. He turned his eyes to look at me and I could sense the greatest fear in him. The beast rose, sending a rumbling sound through the pillars of the church. Was there any hope for an escape? Our minds were all blank as we wished we just stayed in the car. With the voice of an infant baby girl, the beast spoke. "All of you will die, but before then, let's eat" I threw up at the sight of Polar's intestines placed amongst other body parts on the table, the beast demanded that we feed on his flesh or die sooner, Andrew couldn't stand it so attempted an attack on the beast. As expected, his unreasonable move led to his death, an arrow from nowhere bore a hole in his throat. Out of fear, I ran to the table, put my hands over my eyes, grabbed a random piece of flesh, and stuffed it into my mouth. I felt an immediate irritation that caused me to vomit. Jason couldn't bear the sight of his angel eating human flesh. He slowly walk to where Andrew lay and committed suicide, stabbing himself with the arrow. I cried out in pain of losing my love and friends, the beast tapped me on my back and offered to spare my life if I didn't try to escape. The church became my home and I lived every day seeing the graves of my closest friends right in the front yard.

"Me gustaría proponer un brindis, para despedirnos por fin de la ciudad de los ángeles", dijo Andrew desde el asiento trasero del coche. Siguió cantando melodías con un tono de voz desviado, todos nos reímos al reconocer su estado de embriaguez. Estábamos a mitad de camino de la ciudad de Ally, donde mi novio Jason, dos de sus amigos Polar, Andrew y yo, hicimos un pequeño viaje para cenar con los ángeles de Ally, como llamaban a las perras de allí. Miré desde el asiento del conductor, hacia el cielo y noté su ceño fruncido, y supe que pronto nos acompañaría una tormenta. Todos los chicos estaban borrachos y por eso tuve que manejar las ruedas. Como si fuera un vidente, inmediatamente empezó a llover a cántaros. "Oye, cariño, ¿puedes coger mi teléfono de la puerta lateral?" Le dije a Jason mientras viajábamos hacia la tormenta. "Dang, no tengo servicio, pronto oscurecerá y no podemos navegar por esta ruta sin servicio" murmuré con la frustración en toda mi cara mientras se ponía roja. Volvimos a mirar a los chicos y ambos estaban profundamente dormidos. "Oh, cobardes", dijo Jason mientras se reía y arrebataba la botella de champán del agarre de Andrew. Nos adentramos en una carretera solitaria y pronto la noche se acercó rápidamente, lancé mi limpiaparabrisas mientras el aguacero se hacía más fuerte. Cuando miré hacia abajo para encender los faros, me quedé helado durante un minuto al notar un persistente destello de luz roja. Giré mi cabeza lentamente con la boca abierta hacia Jason, él me miró con curiosidad durante un rato antes de que finalmente hablara. "¿Qué pasa Jane?" Preguntó, se escuchó un sonido en la región de mi cuello mientras tragaba un enorme escupitajo, me volví hacia los destellos para estar doblemente segura y luego volví a Jason y le pregunté: "Cariño, ¿has rellenado el depósito?" Él jadeó sorprendido al imaginar que nos habíamos quedado sin gasolina. "Hagas lo que hagas, no sueltes el acelerador..." El intento de Jason de exigirme que mantuviera el coche en marcha se cortó cuando los motores se apagaron inmediatamente. "¡Joder!" Gritó Jason y los chicos salieron disparados de la siesta del coche gritando "me toca" al unísono. "¡Jinx!" Jason y yo nos hicimos eco como si no estuviéramos en medio de una catástrofe. "¿Qué pasa?" preguntó Polar. Ambos no pudimos dar una respuesta inmediata, Andrew se vio obligado a hacer exactamente la misma pregunta, y esta vez, Jason respondió con "nos hemos quedado sin gasolina" mientras miraba hacia fuera para ver la carretera. "Tenemos que separarnos y buscar ayuda", sugirió Jason. "¿En medio de la nada?" pregunté mientras rebatia su sugerencia. "Tenemos que permanecer juntos, esto es demasiado solitario. Menos mal que tenemos algunos abrigos en el coche, todos, coged uno" dije y todos sacamos nuestros abrigos y nos los pusimos."

"Ahí, hay una ruta por allá, debe llevar a algún lado", dijo Jason y señaló al ver una abertura en los arbustos. "Hubiera jurado que eso no estaba ahí hace un rato" se hizo eco Andrew. "Oh, cállate, tú qué sabes, estás borracho", dijo Polar mientras todos nos reíamos y salíamos del coche. "Esto no me gusta nada" continuó murmurando Andrew mientras ralentizaba sus pasos para ser el último en atravesar los arbustos. Sacamos nuestros teléfonos y encendimos las linternas, una luz iluminadora se clavó en nuestros ojos durante un rápido segundo, "Ahhhh" gritamos todos. "Eso ha sido raro" murmuré mientras parecía que nuestros flashes se refractaban en un prisma de cristal que provocaba un efecto con mucha más luminosidad. Resulta que al ignorar el extraño suceso y avanzar entre los arbustos, llegamos a lo que parecía un callejón sin salida, había un muro de hierro muy grueso.. Todos nos dimos la vuelta para intentar volver cuando Jason llamó nuestra atención sobre lo que había en la pared. "Hay algo escrito en la pared", dijo Jason. Me acerqué y limpié el polvo de sus bordes oxidados. "La iglesia" me hice eco de los escritos y no menos de mil murciélagos escaparon de los arbustos mientras se escuchaba un fuerte gemido en su interior. Gritamos de miedo sólo para ver cómo la pared se alejaba. "Hay una ruta" dijo Polar mientras se despertaba su cosquilleo de explorador. Pasó junto a nosotros antes de que pudiéramos desistir de la idea de atravesar los arbustos. No tuvimos más remedio que ir tras él. Pronto nos encontramos en el campo del santuario, ¿o era un cementerio? Era difícil saberlo, ya que estaban en el mismo lugar. Andrew se estremeció mientras repetía "oh Señor''. Yo estaba oficialmente asustada. ¿Qué hacía una iglesia en un lugar como éste? ¿Y quién entierra a la gente aquí? Preguntas y preguntas pasaban por mi mente. Como si estuviéramos siendo controlados por algo, todavía nos encontramos empujando hacia adelante. Polar ya había entrado en la iglesia, nos precipitamos hacia delante cuando empezamos a sentir la presencia de cadáveres vagando. Llegamos a la puerta y estábamos a punto de entrar cuando un feroz halcón salió volando por la ventana hacia el oscuro cielo. Jason se meó en los pantalones mientras su trasero dejaba escapar el gas. Estaba tan nervioso que no podía hacer ninguna broma al respecto. Andrew estaba a punto de reírse cuando las puertas de la iglesia se abrieron. La cara de risa de Andrew se convirtió inmediatamente en un grito de miseria cuando vimos la cabeza de Polar en una bandeja en el umbral de la puerta, con un papel pegado en el que se leía: "Aquí tienes un regalo querida visita" Gritamos e intentamos salir corriendo pero un fuerte viento ocupó los campos y nos hizo volar hasta la iglesia, las puertas se cerraron y todos supimos en nuestro interior que habíamos llegado al final de nuestras vidas.

Como si lo hubiéramos planeado, todos teníamos los ojos cerrados mientras temíamos lo peor. No estábamos precisamente equivocados, fue un infierno cuando nos armamos de valor para ver lo que nos esperaba. Una bestia femenina estaba sentada a lo lejos, con una gran figura de ave sobre su trono. Era tan aterradora que podía hacer que el miedo recorriera la columna vertebral de cualquier humano. No había bancos, pero muchos esqueletos ocupaban la sala. Agarré a Jason de la mano y le susurré que había visto aparecer una lápida con el nombre de Polar en los campos antes de que se cerraran las puertas. Volvió los ojos para mirarme y pude percibir el mayor miedo en él. La bestia se levantó, enviando un sonido retumbante a través de los pilares de la iglesia. ¿Había alguna esperanza de escapar? Nuestras mentes estaban en blanco mientras deseábamos quedarnos en el coche. Con la voz de una niña pequeña, la bestia habló. "Todos vosotros moriréis, pero antes, vamos a comer" Vomité al ver los intestinos de Polar colocados entre otras partes del cuerpo sobre la mesa, la bestia exigió que nos alimentáramos de su carne o moriríamos antes, Andrew no pudo soportarlo así que intentó un ataque a la bestia. Como era de esperar, su irracional movimiento le llevó a la muerte, una flecha salida de la nada le hizo un agujero en la garganta. Por miedo, corrí a la mesa, me tapé los ojos con las manos, cogí un trozo de carne al azar y me lo metí en la boca. Sentí una irritación inmediata que me hizo vomitar. Jason no pudo soportar la visión de su ángel comiendo carne humana. Caminó lentamente hacia donde yacía Andrew y se suicidó, apuñalándose con la flecha. Grité de dolor por perder a mi amor y a mis amigos, la bestia me tocó en la espalda y me ofreció perdonarme la vida si no intentaba escapar. La iglesia se convirtió en mi hogar y vivía cada día viendo las tumbas de mis amigos más cercanos justo en el patio delantero.
