Hola amigos, aunque ya me he presentado antes hay bastante que no les he contado hasta ahora, así que aquí va otra faceta de mí personalidad: como ya algunos saben, soy venezolano y actualmente vivo en la ciudad de Caracas, me gradué hace unos tres años como Ingeniero en Materiales en la Universidad Simón Bolívar, líder nacional en producción científica. Mi preparación académica se centró en el estudio de los procesos de fabricación de los tres grandes grupos de materiales que existen (polímeros, metales y cerámicas) así como sus diferentes aplicaciones industriales y/o tecnológicas, sin embargo, esta preparación se encontró más orientada hacia el área de polímeros y terminé incursionando en técnicas de caracterización de materiales poliméricos.

Fue así como inicie una pasantía corta estudiando las propiedades mecánicas de una mezcla de Polietileno con nanotubos de carbono - estos últimos, materiales de vanguardia con propiedades superiores en cualquier campo de aplicación – que concluyó que el agregado efectivamente incrementaba las propiedades mecánicas del nanocompuesto (se denomina así a un material que es resultado de una mezcla, donde uno de ellos tiene dimensiones del orden de nanómetros). Posteriormente, realicé mi tesis de grado en el estudio de propiedades térmicas de un biopolímero llamado Poli(ε-caprolactona) mezclado también con nanotubos de carbono, logrando demostrar que la presencia de estos modificaba la cinética de cristalización del polímero, lo cual va más allá de la teoría y amplifica sus potenciales aplicaciones.

*** Hello friends, although I’ve already introduce me before there is pretty much that I have not told you till now, so here is another facet of my personality: as some people already know, I’m venezuelan and currently i live in Caracas City, I got graduate about three years ago as a Materials Engineer at Simón Bolívar University, national leader in scientific production. My academic preparation focused on the study of the manufacturing processes of the three large groups of materials that exist (polymers, metals and ceramics) as well as their different industrial and / or technological applications, however, this preparation was more oriented towards the area of polymers and I ended up penetrating in techniques of characterization of polymeric materials. This is how i started a short internship by studying the mechanical properties of a mixture of polyethylene with carbon nanotubes - the latter, cutting-edge materials with superior properties in any field of application - that concluded that the aggregate effectively increased the mechanical properties of the nanocomposite (Thus denominates a material that is the result of a mixture, where one of them has dimensions of the order of nanometers). Later, I performed my thesis in the study of thermal properties of a biopolymer named Poly(ε-caprolactone) also mixed with carbon nanotubes, getting demonstrate that the presence of these modified the crystallization kinetics of the polymer, which goes beyond of theory and amplifies their potential applications. Once I finished my studies as engineer I dedicated myself to work mainly in manufacturing companies, it was there that I began to study a Management in Technology and Innovation Specialization, which proposes the incorporation of technology in productive companies to reach higher production and quality standards , Knowledge that I believe are of high value for my country. However, given the current circumstances in Venezuela that all we know: severe food and medicines shortages, safety issues, high cost of living, four months of protests with more than one hundred people killed by government repression and very serious violations to human rights, my work stability and iy postgraduate studies culmination are threatened, for those reasons, I decided to go abroad to study and get a job (I hope so), then I started a campaign to raise funds and pay a Master's degree at the University of Buenos Aires ( Argentina) in the same area of technology, so I would like to take the opportunity to request your help in such an initiative.
