The Bitcoin.com company is ran by [Roger "Bitcoin Jesus" Ver](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Ver). As stated on their About US page, they are a commercial website providing news, forums and other Bitcoin related services. Recently, Roger Ver has become a big proponent of Bitcoin Cash, calling it the real Bitcoin. Nonetheless, the popularity of the dot com Internet domain keeps Bitcoin.com at #20 of the Top 50 Crypto-currency websites.

They are based out of Hong Kong, and are currently one of the most popular crypto-currency exchanges in the world with a daily volume of over $500 Million US Dollars. Hitbtc is truly one of the more advanced exchanges, allowing professional traders to make the most of trade bots, API's and live market data streams. Another popular feature that Hitbtc has is that they allow the novice trader to use a DEMO version, without the risk of losing real money. Hitbtc's many features keep it at the forefront of crypto-currency, placing it at #19 on the List.

In 2016 they moved their headquarters to Luxembourg, in Europe. They continue to offer the exchange of Bitcoin for Fiat currency as well as the trading of other crypto-currencies such as Ripple, Litecoin and Ethereum. Bitstamp is one of the few exchanges accepting credit cards and debit cards. Its solid track history put Bitstamp at #18 of the Top 50 Crypto-currency websites.

Kraken is rated as one of the most secure exchanges, while also providing transparency with cryptographically verifiable proof-of-reserves audits. Kraken's trustworthiness puts it at #17 on the list of Top 50 Crypto-currency websites.

They use many different rating metrics such as developer numbers and activity, twitter and reddit followers (community), liquidity and other important factors to provide a score and rating for each digital coin. This valuable and ever pertinent information puts Coingecko at a solid #16 on the list of Top 50 Crypto-currency Websites.
