I think it makes more sense to revamp the new player experience and make something that can be easily adapted across the board to make the transition from brand new novice player into the game and bypassed

That is the main reason I suggested it because if we manage to create a whole new Novice playground content and experience we can use that across the board for onboarding and eventually mobile players
