I want to warn you that this post is going to be quite long—or at least that’s what I expect—because when I read about these updates and the contest, I got really excited—not because of the prizes, which are great, I must say, but because we finally have the “Hive Blockchain” integrated with the EVM, or “Ethereum Virtual Machine,” which is the standard on which all Web3 cryptocurrency protocols operate. Basically, all the most important L2s in the ecosystem are, for the most part, based on ETH, with the exception of, for example, SOLANA, which has its own network, and the new and powerful HyperEVM from the “Hyperliquid” ecosystem. Having Hive integrated with the EVM opens up a world of possibilities you can’t even imagine; the entire Web3 ecosystem is now wide open for collaboration and integration of thousands of projects through smart contracts and the work of @magi.network, which is great, Although “Hive” is a pretty powerful network on its own with no fees, this integration was really necessary to expand its reach, attract new investors, and bring more people in and out of the space. But today’s post is about testing out their platforms, especially “Altera,” which has caught my attention the most. While “Okinoco” is interesting and I’ll mention it, I’ll focus on Altera. >**This post will be divided into two parts: the first will introduce “Altera” to readers who are new to this type of platform. The second part will offer some “constructive feedback” on the project based on my years of experience with other protocols. So, if you’re ready, let’s get started on this journey.**

It is very similar to what we all know as the “Hive Engine,” but it functions differently, with distinct changes that make it one of a kind, especially within the “Hive” ecosystem, where nothing quite like this has ever been seen before. To provide some context with a more practical example, we know that in “Hive Engine” we can create tokens and purchase tokens derived from original cryptocurrencies. When I say “derivatives,” I’m referring to tokens that have “SWAP” in their name, such as “SWAP. BTC,” which is not a native “Bitcoin” token, but rather a derivative that tracks its price. The reason it is a derivative is simple: Hive’s L2 is a network built on top of Hive’s L1, and natively, Hive’s ecosystem does not include original tokens like BTC and ETH. This creates a great solution for accessing the tokens with the highest market capitalization on Hive, but with “Magi”—which is also built on Hive’s L2—you can access tokens like “Bitcoin,” and this time it’s natively supported; it’s “Original Bitcoin,” making it one of the very few protocols that allows access to native Bitcoin via an L2. https://i.imgur.com/mtJcz76.png ##### Now that we've clarified that, what makes it different: >* **First of all, we can obtain original “Bitcoin” through our “Hive” account.** > >* **Secondly, Magi integrates seamlessly with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Here, you can also see your portfolio and its value on the right-hand side, along with a graphical representation of how it looks. We can also see the HBD Staking section, which works very similarly to the native staking on Hive’s L1, offering a 12% annual APR. One of the most important aspects is the “Magi Resource Credits,” which, as I understand it, serve the same function as GAS in any EVM. To put it simply, when we connect to a network like BASE or Arbitrum, for example, every transaction and action we perform on that L2 incurs a GAS fee, and we pay that GAS in ETH itself. Here on MAGI, those “Magi Resource Credits” serve the same purpose, since every action you take (Deposit, Swap, and Withdrawal) consumes Magi Resource Credits, so you need to be mindful of that, as they get used up. In my case, it was 16,167 HIVE, which I then swapped for BTC to receive 0.00001194 Satoshis of BTC.** --- ***In Summary:*** ***The process is very simple: just click “Deposit,” follow the steps, click “Review Deposit” to confirm, and wait a moment for it to appear on your “Dashboard.” You can refresh the page until you see it. The way these pools work isn’t complicated; they simply pair two tokens. In this case, we see two pairs: (HBD/HIVE and BTC/HBD). This allows others making trades within “Magi” to use the liquidity provided by the providers, who deposit funds into both pools or just one, thereby enabling trades to take place. Each pool charges a certain fee, and those fees are earned by liquidity providers. For example, the fees paid over the last 30 days in the HBD/HIVE pool totaled $352.68. If we divide this by 30 days, it yields a daily reward of $11.76. now, if we divide this by the total value locked (TVL) of $5,638.65, this gives us a daily return of 0.2057%, and if we multiply this by 365 days in a year, we find that this pool pays an APR of 75.07%. --- ***Note: These are risky investments; I don't recommend doing this if you don't know what you're doing, but I still wanted to explain how it works for the benefit of anyone who has no idea what it's all about.*** ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/lenonmc21/23sxGRokNSJvc1hnBAmyCJCTQNih9sAj9VH9kWtoRhJ9qjQBzudKDJi7928YVbBzriNDb.png) https://i.imgur.com/uII2V2t.png ### What are Magi Tokens/NFTs? https://i.imgur.com/whZW3r0.png This is where everything changes for the “Hive” ecosystem, because while many tokens have been created through Hive’s L2 on “Hive Engine,” and NFT collection projects have been launched—which are great— but “Magi Tokens/NFTs” take these types of creations to a whole new level. As I’ve already mentioned, the fact that the “Magi” protocol is EVM-compatible is a game-changer that could bring an unprecedented boom to the Hive economy as a whole, since it’s very easy to create a token and an NFT with “Magi.” However, I haven’t been able to test this option because it charges me 10 HBD in both cases, which isn’t bad in a way, but I haven’t seen the reason for this 10 HBD fee to launch a token or an NFT on the “Magi” protocol. The reason for this doubt stems from my experience on other networks where I’ve also been working for years, such as BASE, Arbitrum, the BSC, and Ethereum itself. https://i.imgur.com/mtJcz76.png ##### ¿Because I'm not sure? Over the years, I’ve even created creator coins; in fact, I have my own on other networks, so I’m very familiar with the processes and all the testing and deployment I’ve done on these networks. This token is launched with a liquidity pool already created on Uniswap V4, where you can customize the fees, rewards, token lock-up period in the pool, and even an initial airdrop—all for the aforementioned fee.** * **In the second image, I ran the test with the same token, but this time I switched to the ETH network (L1), where fees are usually quite high, and it’s the same process, but the GAS fee charged to launch a token is $6.66 paid in ETH. I’ve used it to launch NFTs and other projects, and as you can see in the image, the fee for launching even an entire collection is just $0.015 ETH on the BASE network—a negligible cost that anyone can afford. **Why am I bringing this up?** The reason is to understand the rationale behind the fee, since for the token to have value, a liquidity pool must be created—similar to those that already exist. Perhaps that 10 HBD fee could serve as initial liquidity for the token, attracting the attention of investors or those who want to launch a project based on a token. I say this because I myself create tokens for my own projects, and the idea as a creator is to add value—both through what the project does and because the token needs liquidity to generate interest; otherwise, there’s no point in creating it. Quiero avisar que este post será bastante largo, o al menos es lo que preveo, ya que cuando leí estas actualizaciones y el concurso, me emocione y no por lo premios que son geniales debo destacar, sino que por fin tenemos a la “Blockchain de Hive” integrada con la EVM o llamada “Ethereum Virtual Machine” que es el estándar en donde todos los protocolos de criptomonedas en la web3 hacen vida. Para dar un poco de contexto en un ejemplo mas practico, sabemos que en “Hive Engine” podemos crear tokens y comprar tokens derivados de criptomonedas originales, cuando digo derivados me refiero a los tokens que tienen el nombre “SWAP” por delante de ellos, como por ejemplo “SWAP.BTC”, el cual no es un “Bitcoin” original nativo, si no un derivado que replica su precio, la razón por la que es un derivado es sencilla, y es que la L2 de Hive es una red que se basa en la L1 de “Hive” y de forma nativa Hive no tiene en su ecosistema tokens originales como BTC y ETH. También podemos ver el apartado de Staking de HBD, el cual funciona de forma muy parecida al nativo en la L1 de Hive, dando el 12% de APR anual y uno de los aspectos mas importantes esta en los “Magi Resource Credits”, los cuales, en mi manera de entender las cosas, hace la misma función que hace el GAS en cualquier EVM. Para que me entienda, cuando nosotros nos conectamos a una red como BASE o Arbitrum, por ejemplo, cada transacción y acción que hacemos en esa L2 tiene un costo de GAS y ese GAS lo pagamos en el mismo ETH, aquí en MAGI, esos “Magi Resource Credits” tienen esta misma función, ya que por cada acción que hagas (Deposito, Swap y Retiro) gasta créditos de recursos de Magi, por lo que tienes que estar atento, ya que se gastan. En minutos ya tendrás tus BTC disponibles.*** https://i.imgur.com/mtJcz76.png ##### ¿Qué son las “Pools”? ![Pools Altera.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/lenonmc21/23tRqtTvzijGLc1UHRLmDGyySACUJndwXVmGifh4gEFjAzvNzhRq836xQZ6PowTcU961m.png) Uno de mis aspectos favoritos en Web3 son las Pools de liquidez o como también se les llama minería de liquidez, el funcionamiento de las pools no es complicado, sencillamente agrupan 2 tokens, en este caso vemos 2 grupos que son (HBD/HIVE y BTC/HBD), esto ayuda a que otros que hagan intercambios dentro de “Magi” usen la liquidez de los proveedores, aquellos ingresan dinero en ambas o solo una, y de esa manera poder hacer intercambios. Cada pool cobra cierta comisión y esas comisiones las ganan los que proveen liquidez, por ejemplo, los fees que se han pagado los últimos 30 días en la pool de HBD/HIVE han sido de $352.68, si esto lo dividimos entre 30 días no da una recompensa diaria de $11.76, ahora bien, si esto lo dividimos entre la liquidez depositada el TVL que son $5638.65, esto nos da un retorno diario de 0.2057% y si multiplicamos estos por 365 días que tiene un año, tenemos que esta pool paga un APR de 75.07%. --- ***Nota: Estas son inversiones de riesgo, no recomiendo hacerlo si no sabes lo que haces, pero igual quería explicar cómo funciona para el conocimiento de cualquier usuario que no tenga idea de lo que se trata.*** ![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/lenonmc21/23sxGRokNSJvc1hnBAmyCJCTQNih9sAj9VH9kWtoRhJ9qjQBzudKDJi7928YVbBzriNDb.png) https://i.imgur.com/uII2V2t.png ### ¿Que son los Magi Tokens/NFT? https://i.imgur.com/whZW3r0.png En este apartado es donde todo cambia para el ecosistema de “Hive”, ya que si, a través de la L2 de Hive en “Hive Engine”, se han creado muchos tokens, se han creador proyectos de colecciones NFT, los cuales están geniales, pero “Magi Tokens/NFT” introduce un nuevo nivel a este tipo creaciones, ya que, como ya he comentado, el que este protocolo de “Magi” sea compatible con la EVM, es un cambio de juego que puede traer un auge a la economía de Hive en su conjunto como nunca antes, ya que es muy sencillo crear un token y un NFT con “Magi”. Sin embargo, no he podido probar esta opción porque me cobra 10 HBD en ambos casos, lo que de cierta forma no esta mal, pero, no he visto el porque del cobro de estos 10 HBD para lanzar un token o un NFT en el protocolo de “Magi”. La razón de esta duda es fundamentada en mi experiencia en otras redes en las cuales llevo también años trabajando, como en BASE, Arbitrum, la BSC y la propia Ethereum. https://i.imgur.com/mtJcz76.png ##### ¿¿Porque tengo la duda?? Antes de proseguir, quiero dejar claro que todo lo que comento no es una “CRITICA”, es una duda “Constructiva”, porque me interesa que este proyecto tengo todo el éxito, especialmente para esta red de ”Hive” que esta “Infravalorada”. Digo esto porque yo mismo tokens creadores en donde tengo un proyecto, y la idea como creador es agregarlo valor, tanto por lo que hace el proyecto y porque el token necesita liquidez para generar atención, sino no tiene sentido crearlo.
