Hi guys!
We headed off to church early this morning to be back up to Jamie running sound. He shouldn’t be worried as he’s got this! It was a good sermon followed by a surprise early Thanksgiving lunch. On the menu was the traditional meal right down to the pumpkin pie. I stayed away from the gluten, and had a lovely lunch.
We came home and as I was fixing coffees for us, the heavens opened up and dumped a bit of rain on us. I thought the hiking was done for and began thinking about heading to the mall to walk it instead. We ended up getting in the pick up truck and heading into Everson to pick up some free pallets and then stop by the store to get some smoked provolone cheese. I was making French onion soup! I had read somewhere that it’s possible sourdough bread might be ok for gluten intolerant people. I had never tried since I’d stopped eating wheat, and after researching it, decided last night to give it a try. I was disappointed to learn that I still had the all over ‘itchies’ after eating it, which is what I believe is an allergic reaction to the wheat. However, the good news was that instead of lasting for 24-72hours as is the norm, it was gone this morning when I got up. So that prompted me to try it again, and if I was going to, I might as well have it in something I really like. So far after consuming it, I’m still a little reactive, but I would have to say that it’s better than last night's reaction. There is supposed to be something about the enzymes in the soured culture the bread is made from. I’m going to keep working on this and see what the outcome is over the next week. I am well aware that sometimes what starts out okay ends up being built up until it’s not tolerated. I’m hoping this isn’t the case with this. Time will tell.
After we got back, we headed out for a short hike and made it up past the pond, but the forest was really too dark to venture into at that hour. I wasn’t in the mood to deal with a cougar, so rather then tempt fate, we turned around. It was still a good hike; just a bit shorter.
Now, I’m ready for bed…….soon!
Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to keep on steppin’! Any exercise is good for you, so keep at it. Have a wonderful day wherever you are!
