The day dawned seriously foggy with zero sun! We were expecting rain, and where as it did a little, not a whole lot was to be seen.
I began my day in finishing up two packages that needed mailing and worked on wrapping and packing and then printing the mailing labels. After that, I headed to the post office to get them on their way.
It was raining in town and I had to use the windshield wipers to get home. Usually, what occurs in town is headed uphill our way. At first, we weren’t going to go hiking and do the mall walking thing instead. However, the rain never really materialized up here, so we set off.
It was kind of cold, but really probably more damp. Dampness has that way of reaching way down into your bones. Brrrr…. We ascended into literally a cloud and you could feel the water droplets suspended in the air as they hit your face when you walked forward.
It really wasn’t raining, just really weird! We hiked up to Towhee Ridge as that was about as far as the daylight was going to let us go, and get off the mountain before twilight. You don’t hike after dark where we live!
I had just gotten in the mail yesterday, a second back up pair of Morrell hikers and wore them today to make sure all is well. I actually like them better than the first pair, so I am thinking the blue and grey ones are going to be my daily hikers and the black and grey ones are for backups if the first pair don’t dry out or something. Anyway, it makes me happy to have that second pair just in case. Most of the time when you find something that works really well for you, it’s a good idea to get a second one, like the hikers, as I find that when you go to get the second one, they are all gone, discontinued, or any other number of reasons that they aren’t available.
