Hi guys! Thanks for stopping by!
We got up extra early today to head to church for worship practice. Practice went well as did the service. The music told the story of the birth of Jesus along with scripture references.
After church, we came home and had to kill a little bit of time, for as we began our ascent from below in the valley, the further towards home we got, the more it began to rain! So, after a spot of coffee and lunch, around 2 PM, we headed out. As we reached the little bit of flat ground in front of our neighbors off grid cabin, we were welcomed by the sun bursting through the clouds. It was glorious and made you just want to stand there and soak up the sunshine. It seems like forever since we had any.
We continued on and got up to Towhee Ridge, just where the Slumbering Bear trailhead was. Looking at the time, we decided we didn’t have enough time to continue on, so we hiked the last few feet to the picnic area at the top. This sight greeted us from the southeast.
Frosting on top!
We took just a few minutes to rest and then headed back down as darkness was in the offing. Once again, when we got to that flat spot in front of the off grid cabin, we stopped once more to soak just a bit of the setting sun. Mike reminded me we needed to continue on down as it would soon be dark. Oh, how I just wanted to stand there in the warmth of the sun!
We had intended to head to town to do a quick shopping trip, but by the time Mike was ready to go, it was already 7:30 PM, and I didn’t want to spend the rest of the evening running. My energy for the day was at a low. So, we opted to have dinner and finish watching a Christmas movie we had started last night.
I am pleasantly tired and more than ready to head for bed.
Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to keep on steppin’! Any exercise is good for you, so keep at it. Have a wonderful day wherever you are!
