Hi everybody!! Thanks for stopping by!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
We stayed up well past midnight last night, and it showed by how late we slept in. Upon awakening, I was amazed to see the sun shining through the trees out in the back woods behind the house! According to the weather forecast, it was to do nothing but rain today……ALL day!
After getting up and getting the morning shower and whatnot out of the way, I fixed coffee for us and had breakfast. I have never been a breakfast girl, but I am thinking that maybe it’s time I try to become one. I can remember when I was a kid, my parents would actually buy Captain Crunches Peanut Butter Cereal for me in the hopes I would like it enough to eat. It worked sometimes, but not all the time. So, no, I’m not resorting to that but am focusing more on oatmeal, eggs, and sour dough English muffins - not all at the same time mind you. My stomach generally rebels at food first thing, so this is a slow journey I am undertaking.
We set out for the hike around 2 PM. With a quick stop at our neighbor’s house to check out her new car , we were off. It was sunny
and it felt good on my face.
It’s been forever since the sun has shone here, and it was much appreciated. The scenery was beautiful as always,
but there was nothing really different and out of the ordinary to photograph. That’s interesting to me as I’ve not had this problem in the past 4 years we’ve hiked these trails. Maybe the rain has kept some things from sprouting and providing that new canvas for me.
We completed the hike and came home to light a small fire as it is also a little unseasonably warm here right now as well.
I set out to make homemade turkey vegetable soup along with baked potatoes for dinner. It was yummy! While consuming dinner, we watched on our ROKU TV we just got a couple of days ago, a documentary on Colorado National Parks. It’s made me realize how much I miss Colorado! If the family weren’t here, I might would just say, let’s go back.(Sigh)
As said in a post last night, I agree that goal setting might be a better route than resolutions. I plan on setting goals to do some things better than I’ve done them in the past. The specifics I haven’t worked out just yet, but there’s time for that.
This marks the end of the first day of 2020. I hope you have enjoyed your day as well! That’s going to be it for me tonight.
Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to keep on steppin’! Any exercise is good for you, so keep at it. Have a wonderful day wherever you are!
