Hi everyone!! Thanks for stopping by!
I went to bed last night and apparently slept like the dead! Mike was up as the howling wind storm we were having disturbed his sleep and once you start thinking about all the trees that could fall………well, you tend to not go back to sleep! I got almost a full 8 hours sleep, the first in a long, long time!
After I finally woke up, I made coffee and had breakfast and worked on the PowerPoint for church. Then I called Jan and the Three Musketeers were off for the long hike. This was to be the first in quite some time as the weather has not been cooperating at all. We even got just a little sunshine while we hiked. It was great to be out again. I had had a headache before we started but the fresh air and exercise took care of it.
Afterwards, I made Mike and I an espresso and toasted sour dough English muffins, while we worked on loading the car for worship team practice. It had come to me in a message from the gal that runs our sound, that apparently the power was off at the church because of the storm. We still went anyway, and sure enough it was, but Jan joined us and we stood in the back of the church near the doors where there was light and practiced acoustically. The only drawback was I couldn’t work on my keyboard, but by the grace of God, that will be okay tomorrow. The worship practice time was awesome and it sounded really good with the acoustics the way they were at the back of the church. We decided that just maybe, we should do worship from back there going forward, lol!
This shot is the same one as behind my fitbit stats, but I wanted to show the whole thing. I have learned that the flooding in Everson is much more severe, even than this picture can show. I have viewed a few drone videos taken of the town, and it's pretty devastating. Apparently the levy broke to the Nooksack river and it has flooded the worst I've ever seen and I'm hearing the worst in quite some time.
Then came time to go, and we tried going to Everson to get to the grocery as tomorrow is potluck lunch at church, and I needed something to take. However, it was not to happen. We are currently cut off from town due to local flooding. There is no way to get there that doesn’t require a boat or swimming! I can contribute next month, I suppose.
This picture is of a close by neighbor whose driveway has experienced a mudslide. You cant see from the photo, but at the bottom of this is a very fast flowing creek. This mudslide took out full mature trees and toppled them over like matchsticks.
The day ended earlier than expected, which is leaving me a bit of extra time for Actifit and Steemit.
That’s gonna be it for now………
Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to keep on steppin’! Any exercise is good for you, so keep at it. Have a wonderful day wherever you are!
