In my series of Nectors Of Summers how can I miss our good old Icecream. So many choices to spoil you silly. So many flavours, so many brands to choose from. God bless who founded this cool dessert!
I tried to find it but it wasn’t quite clear as many nations/ people take the credit for its invention.
Some say it was Roman emperor who used to send his slaves to mountains to get the snow to mix it with honey, nector and fruit pulp.
Some say it was Chinese who came up with this idea of mixing Buffalo milk, camphor and flour and kept it under the snow to set it. Cool😎 (actually)!
There are more theories of who might have invented but I don’t want to miss my icecream which will melt in this chill(ing) who-done-it drama.
So in this hot weather let’s see what all we have today.
First I will introduce the icecream I made at home. my experiment which according to my kids was very yummy but healthy shouldn’t be taken to this level.
I tried my hand at beet root icecream. It turned out pretty well. To bribe the kids I made cups from chocolate and put a scoop onto it. Another on a homemade waffle. Ta-da! Beautiful looking healthy icecream with the goodness of beet root is ready to be chowed down.
These days artificial flavour has taken a backseat. People are more inclined towards natural fruit flavours.
Whoever founded it, we are not going to complain.
