Hello Steemit Friends,
I found I great sale at my local grocery store and picked up a package of Boyd’s - Good Morning coffee. I have never tried this coffee before, (it is not one that I see on sale very often). Boyd’s Coffee is out of Portland Oregon and was founded in 1900. The roasting scale is 1-5 dots and this selection is rated a 3.
I had an interesting experience with this coffee or I should say two very different experiences. The first pot yielded a barely mediocre cup of coffee. The aroma was non-existent and the flavor was harsh, sharp up front and dry on the back. It screamed for sweetener. I was resigned to not great coffee for the next few days, but surprise, the next pot was good. The aroma was still very mild but the taste was smooth with a slightly dry finish. The bag said that it was crisp, smooth and eye-opening. For that second pot I totally agree.
I have no idea what made the difference, maybe I didn’t use enough coffee or maybe too much. I don’t’ know, but I am so glad that I continued trying because now it is truly enjoyable and I feel comfortable giving it a good review.
Have you had a cup of coffee that surprised you? Let me know.
