Being 1/4 Italian, (the proof being in my surname), I love Italian cuisine and have had the best pizza when I visited Rome, but today was the first time I made pizza from scratch as I usually cook healthier dishes :)
DOUGH
I got the idea from my inspiration Jamie Oliver and improvised
1 1/3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
7g dried yeast / bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup fat free milk
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon caster sugar
TOMATO SAUCE
1 clove of garlic
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
Basil
(For a sweetened taste, you can add a few teaspoons of tomato sauce)
Because I love tomatoes, I added thin slices to the layer of tomato sauce and being in Cyprus, I added delicious Greek feta cheese but one could use buffalo mozzarella as an alternative. I grated mozzarella cheese over my pizza and baked in the oven on 200 degrees celsius for 15-20 minutes.
Once cooked, I then added fresh avocado, wild rocket leaves and lots of black pepper:) enjoy
