There are times when I am in the mood for something sweet that is not loaded with processed sugar or dairy. Often eating fruit will not satisfying my sweet tooth so I like to make some raw vegan brownie bites. These are the perfect bite sized snack that are not too bad for you yet decadent in taste to curb any sugar cravings. There are only 7 ingredients and this recipe is super easy to whip up with the help of a food processor. You can customize this recipe by using your favorite nut, seeds and spices.
Raw Brownie Bites
makes 20 one inch balls
- 160g dates
- 40g sun dried prunes
- 100g raw almonds or nut of choice
- 20g raw hemp seeds
- 12g unsweetened coconut
- 16g cacao powder plus more for coating
- 10g raw cold pressed coconut oil
To make the dates easier to blend in the food processor, cut the dates in half. Place the dates and prunes into the food processor and process until a paste forms.
Add in the nuts, hemp seeds and coconut oil. If you are using spices, you want to add them along with the nuts.
Pulse until the nuts are finely chopped but not pulverized because you want to leave some texture in the brownies. Transfer the mixture into a bowl and gently press the date crumbs together to form a ball.
I like to use an ice cream scooper to portion out the brownie bites. Shape them into balls and roll in extra cocao powder or shredded coconut.
These treats keep well in the refrigerator and they are also delicious frozen. Thank you for another amazing theme.
