Sweet gum tree, Genus "Liquidamder," in Winter. This tree in Riverheads Grangbel Park has long dropped its ball shaped seed pods. If you look closely, you can see the dark balls around the tree.

There are hills in Manorville left by the last ice age. Long Island was created by at least two separate ice sheets. These ice sheets deposited the sand that formed the island. One stopped and formed the
